Hi! It’s been one hell of a week. Some of you don’t know that I had my 6 mo. PET scan last Wed. and got a call on Fri. that they saw a mass on my scan. Saw my oncologist today. I told him that he jinxed me by saying that my cancer might be gone, 6 mos. ago. His answer was that he’s not comvinced that it is GIST (the same cancer). The tumor board met about my scan yesterday. That consists of surgical and medical oncologists. They can’t make a determination of what it is. He said that it could be GIST or another type of cancer or something else (Maybe benign, I hope). He has referred me to a gynocological oncologist becaus e of where the tumor is. I see him on the 14th. Dr. Kauh (my onc) says that he will probably do a  laparoscopy to look at it and take a sample. When the lab looks at it to determine what it is they will go from there. If it’s cancer they will do surgery to remove it. He said that surgical oncologists like to open the patient up to look around the area to see if there is anything else. He said that it was fine for me to go to RI this Sat, for a week, as planned. We got home about 1:30 and got a call from Emory that they had scheduled me for a sonogram at 4 so we had to drive back down to Atlanta. (Have they not seen the price of gas). they did a vaginal sonigram which was most uncomfortable but it’s over. I am now going to have a gin and tonic and sit in the tub. Thanks for your love, support and prayers. Keep them coming. Love, Pat
