Hi! It hasn’t been a very good day ! Went to the oncologist and the tumor is GIST which is my original cancer. The doctor wants to raise my dosage of Gleevec to 800 from 600. He is doubtful that there will be surgery as it could prove to be risky because of the amount of scar tissue. I asked him to speak to the surgeons at the tumor board tomorrow and to tell them that this is what I want. He said that he would and that they may want to speak to me about the risks. He will let me know on Wed. what they say and to add insult to injury, my port in my chest stopped working today and I had to go through some pain in the neck scans to figure out what was wrong with it. Turns out that there is a hole in it so I’ll have to have it removed too. I’m thinking copious amounts of gin and a lot of prayers are what’s needed today.
