Emory Hospital: In and Out and……Back In Again
Hi:
Pat got out of the hospital on Saturday and attended Toni’s shower. Sunday she rested at home. She had previously scheduled a visit with her oncologist for Monday morning. She went in this morning and had her blood tested first and her creatinine level (kidney function) was still not good. The reading had not changed since her discharge on Saturday so her oncologist wanted her to see the kidney doctors and get that issue straightened out. So he admitted her. Took 3 -4 four hours to get a room.
Once she was in a room the kidney doctors made several visits to her. The final decision was to put a scope in her bladder and see what they could see. Based on what they saw would determine their next action. If there is a blockage caused by the tumor they will put in a metal stint (which is good for a year). This procedure takes half an hour. The problem is getting her in because of the schedule. If she gets in during the morning she could get discharged in the afternoon. If she goes in sometime in the afternoon she will be held overnight.
Pat will update you when she gets home.
